Reher is a district of the borough Aerzen in the Hamelin-Pyrmont district in Lower Saxony .
Geographical location
Reher is located in the southwest of the Hameln-Pyrmont district in the Lipper Bergland . In the south of the Weserbergland Schaumburg-Hameln nature park , it is about 3 km southwest of the core town of Aerzen with the district town of Hameln 12 km away , 2.5 km northeast of the district of Grießem and 5 km north of Bad Pyrmont . To the north of the village lies the bare Grehberg hill , slightly beyond it the Lüningsberg , south-southeast the Pyrmonter Berg and west the Saalberg . From southwest to northeast flowing through lobster influx Grießebach the village.
history
Reher is first mentioned between 1237 and 1247 under the name Rethere and later as Redere . The name is probably derived from Reth , which could have grown in the lowlands of the Grießebach.
On January 1, 1973 Reher was incorporated into the Aerzen district.
Coat of arms
The coat of arms is divided horizontally by gold and green; on top of a golden background a green oak, the trunk of which is covered with a silver circular saw; below on a green ground four golden ears of corn crossed in pairs.
With a decree of October 6, 1933, the rural community Reher was granted permission to use the coat of arms by the Prussian State Ministry.

The Evangelical Lutheran inhabitants belong to the parish of Aerzen. Until April 1, 1954, Reher and the neighboring villages of Griessem and Reinerbeck formed their own chapel community.

Road traffic
Bundesstrasse 1 runs through Reher . The nearest highway is the federal highway 2 with connection at 22.5 km ( as the crow northern) Rehren .
Rail transport
From 1897 to 1980, Reher, a stop on the raceway , to the local rail towards Hameln and Bielefeld tied. Freight traffic was given up in 1994 and the route was dismantled. The route can now be used as a cycle path ( Bahnweg warehouse ).
