Reiner K. Huber

Reiner Konrad Huber (born September 25, 1935 ) is a German systems researcher (military systems analysis).

Life

Huber studied mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering at the Technical University of Munich from 1954 to 1960 and as part of the Fulbright Industrial Engineering program at the University of Texas . He became a Dr.-Ing. PhD.

He then worked for three years as a technical officer in the Air Force . In 1963 he became an Operations Research Analyst at IABG in Ottobrunn. He later headed the Systems Studies Division there. In 1975 he became professor for applied systems science with special focus on security policy at the institute for applied systems research and operations research, of which he was later spokesman. From 1981 to 1986 he was dean and member of the Senate . In 2000 he was retired.

In 1979/83 he was visiting professor at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California and visiting professor at the Korean Institute of Defense Analyzes in Seoul (1980), the Royal Military College of Science in Shrivenham (1985) and the Academy's Military Operations Research and Analysis Institute of Military Science in Beijing (1988). He is also Research Assistant at Vector Research in Arbor, Michigan, Research Consultant at RAND Corporation in Santa Monica, California, and Senior Fellow of the Potomac Foundation in McLean, Virginia. He served on the Cornwallis Group's Stearing Committee and the World Federation of Scientists . In 1995 he became a foreign member of the Russian Academy of Natural Science . He also became a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies , the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences and the Operational Research Society .

He was an advisor to NATO and the Federal Ministry of Defense and chaired several international conferences.
