Reinhard Bühling

Reinhard Bühling (born January 21, 1926 in Erfurt ; † August 25, 2012 ) was a German lawyer and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending school in Erfurt, Bühling was drafted into the Wehrmacht in 1944 and took part in the Second World War as a soldier . At the end of the war he was taken prisoner, from which he was released in May 1947. He then studied law at the universities in Jena and Berlin . He worked as a district judge in Berlin-Kreuzberg since 1955 , became legal advisor to the Berlin Senator for National Education Joachim Tiburtius in 1957 and was municipal director at the Schöneberg district office from 1960 to 1965 . He then worked as a lawyer in Berlin-Buckow . From 1974 to 1981 he was President of the Board of Trustees of the German Foundation for International Development .

Political party

Reinhard Bühling joined the SPD in 1949 and was later chairman of the SPD local branch in Neukölln .

MP

Bühling was a member of the district assembly in Berlin-Wilmersdorf from 1958 to 1963 and was elected chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there in 1961. From 1963 to 1965 he was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1965 to 1980 and from July 6, 1981, when he replaced the deceased Member of Parliament Horst Korber , until 1983. In all election periods he was a member of parliament in West Berlin .
