Reinhard Habeck

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reinhard Habeck (born April 20, 1962 in Vienna ) is an Austrian author of para-scientific works, comic strip artist and cartoonist . He gained international fame primarily through his hypothesis , developed together with Peter Krassa and published in 1982 , that the ancient Egyptians were already familiar with and used electricity . The objects depicted on some of the reliefs in the Temple of Hathor in Dendera were a kind of luminous body (popular name: light bulbs from Dendera ).

life and work

In his younger years Habeck first worked in his learned profession as a surveying technician , but also made his first experiences as an author. At that time - in the 1980s - he mostly published articles in frontier science publications, contributions in anthologies, as well as cartoons and humorous entertainment literature. In 1987 he decided to give up his 'bourgeois' profession in order to be able to devote himself entirely to writing and artistic activities. Inspired by the great success of his second book on the subject of 'Electricity in antiquity?', "The Light of the Pharaohs" (1992), which he wrote together with Peter Krassa, he from now on also concentrated as a book author on topics related to the scientific world especially as a representative of pre-astronautics , but also published books on UFO research , lost cultures and paranormal phenomena.

As a comic artist, Reinhard Habeck made a name for himself above all with his first and most popular comic figure, "Rüsselmops, der Extraerdische", which has been exploited by the international picture and cartoon agency Bulls Press since 2014. The prototype of this figure was created back in 1979. Since 1984, trunk pug comics have appeared in the supplement to the science fiction novel series " Perry Rhodan ", in the German youth magazine " Stafette ", the Swiss magazine "Mysteries", on the online magazine www.mystikum.at and for a long time also in the Austrian daily newspaper " Kurier ". In 2007 the Austrian Federal Post Office issued a stamp with a trunk pug motif.

To date, Reinhard Habeck has written about twenty non-fiction books on the border areas of knowledge and science . T. also outside of the German-speaking area, u. a. in Korea , Japan , Italy , Hungary , the Czech Republic and Poland .
