Reinhard Olt

Reinhard Olt (born February 11, 1952 in Haingrund ) is a German journalist and university professor .

life and work

The son from a farming family attended schools in Haingrund, Obernburg am Main and Michelstadt , graduated from high school in 1971 and then did his military service. Olt then studied German studies , folklore , Eastern European history and political science in Mainz and Gießen . His doctorate in 1980 was followed by a position as a research assistant at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen .

From November 1, 1985 to August 31, 2012, Olt worked for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , and from September 1, 1994 until he left as a political correspondent based in Vienna . In addition to this activity, he held teaching positions at German and Austrian universities. From 1992 to 2008 he was a member of the board of the Society for the German Language (GfdS). From 2012 he occasionally taught in Budapest and Graz.

In September 2018, Olt was named the new author of the monthly magazine Alles Roger? presented. For the historians' commission of the FPÖ , Olt wrote an article on the FPÖ's South Tyrol policy.
