Reinhard Piechocki

Reinhard Piechocki (* 1949 ) is a German biologist . Today he works for the International Nature Conservation Academy Insel Vilm and as a book author. His specialty is biodiversity at the International Nature Conservation Academy Insel Vilm of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation .

Life

The son of the zoologist Rudolf Piechocki (1919–2000) studied biology at the universities of Leipzig and Halle . In 1978 he received his doctorate and in the field of Mutation Research at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg in 1987 habilitation . In 1990 he co-founded the GDR's first independent environmental institute. From 1993 he was a research assistant at the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation.

Piechocki deals with the effects of nature conservation . He advocates experiencing nature without excluding people, in which love for nature can only arise and flourish. In his book Landschaft - Heimat - Wildnis he shows the history and philosophy of nature conservation in Germany, East and West.
