Reinhard Scolik (born September 8, 1958 in Mödling , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian lawyer and since March 1, 2016 TV director of Bayerischer Rundfunk .

Life

Reinhard Scolik studied law in Vienna and completed his studies with a doctorate in 1981. He then worked as a university assistant. Scolik began his career in public broadcasting in 1982 at the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) . He worked there from 1983 to 1989 in the legal department as a consultant for broadcasting law, among other things. He then became the office manager of the ORF program director, before he took over the management of the central television program services department (program planning ORF 1 and ORF 2 ) in 1990 . In 1994 Scolik became ORF regional director for Vienna ( Radio Vienna and regional television). From 2002 to 2006 he was program director for television at Austrian Broadcasting, among other things responsible for the areas of culture, religion, family and entertainment, television films, cinema films, series and film purchasing. Until February 29, 2016, Scolik was head of strategic program planning and administration and ORF coordinator for 3sat and ARTE in the general management of ORF .

Since March 1st, 2016 Scolik has been TV director of Bayerischer Rundfunk. He is the successor to Bettina Reitz , who took over the management of the University of Television and Film in Munich (HFF) on October 1, 2015 . As BR television director, Scolik is responsible for the budget, personnel, and the content and design of programs and offers for a total of eight program areas of Bavarian television , in particular for "Culture and Family", "Game - Film - Series", "Science - Education - History" and ARD-alpha . The central area of ​​information is withdrawn from the television directorate; it is the responsibility of the information director. In May 2014, the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation installed a tri-media program area with the information department, in which all current editorial offices from radio, television and online are brought together.

In addition, Scolik has been ARD coordinator for Bayerischer Rundfunk since April 1, 2016 for the community broadcaster 3sat , which was previously coordinated by SWR , and also supports the program management for Das Erste as a part-time ARD coordinator for church broadcasts .
