Reinhold Ritter

Reinhold Ritter (born February 15, 1903 in Servitut , Silesia ; † September 11, 1987 in Heidelberg ) was a German dentist and university professor .

Life

Reinhold Ritter, who comes from the Upper Silesian town of Servitut, turned to studying dentistry after completing his Abitur , which he achieved with the academic degree of Dr. med. dent. completed. After several years as an assistant doctor , Reinhold Ritter completed his habilitation in 1937 as a private lecturer in the subject of dental, oral and maxillofacial medicine at the University of Breslau , where he was appointed as a non-civil servant professor in 1943, before moving to the civil servant professorship for the same subject at the University of Marburg in 1946 changed.

In the following year he accepted the offer for the full professorship for dental, oral and maxillofacial medicine at the University of Heidelberg . Ritter, who also headed the University Clinic and Polyclinic for Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Patients, retired in 1971 . Reinhold Ritter, who was awarded the annual prize of the German Society for Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine , was accepted as a full member of the German Academy of Natural Scientists Leopoldina in 1966.

Memberships in Nazi organizations

After the handover of power to the National Socialists , he became a member of the SA in 1934 , where he achieved the rank of medical officer. He joined the NSDAP in 1937 and was also a member of the Nazi teachers ' and teachers' association.
