Reinier Elizarde "el Negrón" (born April 22, 1982 in Santa Clara ) is a Cuban jazz and entertainment musician ( double bass , electric bass ).

Elizarde first received music lessons at the local Casa de Cultura . At the age of 15 he continued his studies at the Escuela Nacional de Arte , which he attended for two years. He started his career as a professional musician in the Jazz Café , where he performed with the musicians of Irakere , and in the Zorra y el Cuervo (also in Havana). In the same year he also began playing in the Orlando Valle group ; Appearances at international festivals in Europe and North America followed.

During his studies at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, Chucho Valdés brought him to the recording of his album La Rumba soy yo ; Recordings with David Murray followed. For four years he was part of César Pedroso's Pupy y Los que Son, Son . He has lived in Spain since 2010. There he recorded with Marta Sanchez , with the Orchestra del Titanic by Serrat & Sabina , with Román Filiú , with Albert Vila and with Iago Fernández and belongs to the groups of Pepe Rivero and Daniel García Diego , with whom he is also documented on albums . In a trio with Maikel Vistel and Juanma Barroso, the Big Music label created the album Trio On , which was nominated at the Cubadisco Awards 2014 in the jazz category. He also played with Avishai Cohen , Nasheet Waits , Alfredito Rodriguez, Henry Cole , Paquito D'Rivera , Adam Rogers , Marcus Gilmore , Dado Moroni , Lewis Nash , Jorge Rossy , Jorge Vistel and Juanma Barroso.
