Reisdorf is a hamlet that belongs to the municipality of Böllenborn in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Südliche Weinstrasse .

location

The place is three kilometers southwest of the main town of the municipality of Böllenborn in the Upper Mundatwald , a part of the Wasgau , as the southern part of the Palatinate Forest is also called together with the northern part of the Vosges . The Reisbach , an orographically left tributary of the Lauter, rises on the north-eastern edge of the settlement and runs in a north-south direction . The Hohe Derst, a total of 561 meters, extends around one and a half kilometers to the southeast . One kilometer to the west lies the 514.7 meter high Krumme Ellenbogen within the district of Bobenthal . A few kilometers further south is the border with France.

history

The place originated either in the twelfth or in the 13th century. The first documentary mention took place in 1345 as Reychelsdorf , when Emperor Ludwig IV notarised the sale of the place, which functioned as an imperial fief, from Anselm von Berwartstein to Walram von Veldenz . Until the end of the 18th century, the place belonged to the Electoral Palatinate ; within this he was subordinate to the Oberamt Germersheim and the Birkenhördt winery . Already around 1800 the place formed a community with the neighboring Böllenborn. During the 19th century the official name was Reichsdorf . In 1928 the place had 33 residents who lived in eleven residential buildings. At that time the Catholics belonged to the parish of Birkenhördt , while the Protestants belonged to that of Dörrenbach .

During the Second World War , Reisdorf was destroyed and depopulated; In 1951 there were already four families living in the village.

In 1991 the local fire station was converted into a chapel, which bears the name Wendelinus Chapel .
