List of apple varieties |
Remo is a cultivar of the cultivated apple ( Malus domestica) that was created at the Institute for Fruit Research Dresden-Pillnitz and has been on the market since 1990. The variety is a cross of a scab-resistant breeding strain of Malus floribunda ( Japanese apple ) and the James Grieve variety .
description
This variety belongs to a series of multi-resistant breeds from Dresden-Pillnitz. It is resistant to apple scab , powdery mildew and fire blight and insensitive to winter and blossom frost.
Remo regularly brings very high yields. It shows no signs of alternation , which made raising these trees difficult. The yields start very early.
The fruits are sour, the sugar-acid ratio is about 8: 1, so this variety is more suitable for making must or juice than for use as a table apple. The mostly medium-sized, elongated fruits are primed yellow and have a strong red color. The fruits often tend to be slightly russet .
The fruits are ripe for picking in early to mid-September.
Suitable pollinators are Reglindis , Retina, Rewena , Reanda , Rene, Idared , Golden Delicious , Piros , Pinova and Pilot.
