René Buchholz (born December 23, 1958 in Cologne-Lindenthal ) is a German Roman Catholic fundamental theologian .

Life

After graduating from the Rhein-Gymnasium in Cologne in 1977 and completing basic military service , René Buchholz studied Catholic theology, philosophy and pedagogy for teaching ( secondary level II ) in Bonn from the 1979 summer semester and Catholic theology from the 1980/1981 winter semester. From the winter semester 1983/1984 and summer semester 1985 he was a student assistant (tutor) at the Philosophy Department B of the University of Bonn with Wolfgang Kluxen and laid in June 1985, the diploma examination in Catholic theology at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn from .

From July 1985 to September 1988 he worked as a freelancer in adult education, including as a lecturer at the Karl Rahner Academy in Cologne. From 1986 he worked on the dissertation in fundamental theology with Hans Waldenfels . From October 1, 1988 to September 30, 1989, he completed an "orientation year" in the main school / university department of the Archbishop's General Vicariate in Cologne. From March 1st, 1990 to June 30th, 1991 he was a full-time pedagogical employee at the ASG-Bildungsforum Düsseldorf with a focus on theology / philosophy, development of events at city level, decentralized educational work in the parishes. After receiving his doctorate in Catholic theology ( fundamental theology ) at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Bonn in June 1991, he has been a full-time pedagogical employee of the Educational Center of the Archdiocese of Cologne since July 1, 1991 , initially in its branch, the Catholic Educational Center in the city Cologne, since November 1, 2005 at the Catholic Education Center in Bonn.

From August 1996 René Buchholz worked on his habilitation thesis in fundamental theology. Since the winter semester 1996/1997 he had lectureships at the seminar for Catholic theology (Philosophical Faculty) of the University of Cologne in the subject of fundamental theology ( Hans-Joachim Höhn ). His habilitation thesis was accepted by the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Bonn in February 2000. On May 15, 2000, the faculty awarded him the venia legendi . Since the winter semester 2000 he has been holding courses in fundamental theology at the universities of Bonn and Cologne in the main course, in the winter semester 2005/2006 and summer semester 2006 he represented the chair for fundamental theology in Bonn. Since the winter semester 2006/2007 he has been teaching fundamental theology at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Bonn and was appointed adjunct professor in January 2011 .

René Buchholz lives in Bonn, is married and has a grown-up daughter.
