René Koch
René Koch (born September 22, 1945 in Heidelberg ) is a German make-up artist , beauty expert and author .
biography
René Koch trained as an advertising display designer in Mannheim from 1959 to 1962 . When he arrived in Berlin , from 1963 he worked as a dishwasher, bartender, travesty artist and grocer. In 1968 he laid the foundation stone for his work as a make-up artist when he attended the cosmetics school in Berlin. Since 1969 he was trained as a make-up artist at the American cosmetics company Charles of the Ritz. After his apprenticeship, he worked as head make-up artist at Charles of the Ritz and Yves Saint Laurent for over 20 years . During this time, his activities took him to Paris , London , New York , Zurich , Munich and finally back to Berlin.
Koch quickly established a prominent customer base, including many female celebrities from show business such as Joan Collins , Jodie Foster , Claudia Schiffer , Eartha Kitt , Judy Winter , Hildegard Knef , Kim Fisher , Inka Bause and Dagmar Frederic . Since 1990 he has been serving his customers in his beauty salon called Cosmetic & Camouflage Centrum in Berlin-Wilmersdorf . In addition to his work as a make-up artist, he also gives advice on style and color. Since 2006, Koch has also been selling its products via the home shopping channel HSE24 .
In 1996 he founded the working group Camouflage eV , a charitable organization - which advocates for people with fire and accident scars and skin abnormalities and Camouflage - makeup facilitates their lives. Koch still holds the first chairmanship of the association and draws attention to this problem with book publications and talk shows. Since 1995 he has also been a member of the board of trustees of Berliner Aids-Hilfe eV
He has written down his knowledge of beauty and cosmetics in several books. In the afternoon program here from four of the MDR, he advises viewers every 14 days in his fit & fesch section on all aspects of beauty.
On March 13, 2008, he opened an exhibition in Galeries Lafayette to mark the 125th anniversary of lipstick . There he shows exhibits that he has collected over the years for his lipstick museum in his salon. This exhibition will also be shown in Paris and London and includes lipsticks by Evita Peron from Argentina , Hildegard Knef and Dagmar Frederic .
