Renat Dadashov ( Azerbaijani Renat Oleq oğlu Dadaşov , also Renat Dadaschow ; born May 17, 1999 in Rüdesheim am Rhein ) is a German - Azerbaijani football player . The striker has been playing for Wolverhampton Wanderers U23 since January 2020 and is an Azerbaijani international .

family

Dadashov was born to Azerbaijani parents, both former competitive athletes, in Rüdesheim am Rhein in Hesse . His older brother Rufat (* 1991) is also an Azerbaijani national soccer player.

Career

In the club

Dadashov went through the youth teams of TSV Bleidenstadt and SV Wehen Wiesbaden before moving to the Eintracht Frankfurt youth training center in 2013 . He then played for two and a half years at RB Leipzig .

In January 2017 Dadashov returned to Eintracht and received his first professional contract there in May 2017 with a term until June 30, 2020. By the end of the 2016/17 season he made ten appearances in the A-Junior Bundesliga , in which he scored seven hits. For the 2017/18 season, Dadashov moved up to the professional squad and was also part of the A-youth squad , for which he was last eligible to play this season. In January 2018, he was not taken to the winter training camp for disciplinary reasons. In March 2018, Dadashov was released on disciplinary grounds. By then he had scored seven goals in twelve appearances in the A-Junior Bundesliga.

For the 2018/19 season Dadashov moved to the Portuguese second division club GD Estoril Praia . There he scored 4 goals in 22 league appearances (7 times from the start).

Beginning August 2019 acquired the Wolverhampton Wanderers transfer rights to Dadashov, who then for the season 2019/20 in Portugal for the first division -Aufsteiger FC Paços de Ferreira moved. After 7 league appearances (2 times in the starting line-up), the loan was terminated early at the end of December. Dadashov was then integrated into the U23 of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In the national team

Dadashov played 21 times for youth national teams of the German Football Association and scored 17 goals. With the U-17 national team , he took part in the U-17 European Championship in Azerbaijan in May 2016 and reached the semi-finals with his team. In the tournament Dadashov was used in all five games of his team and finished third on the top scorer list with three goals .

On September 4, 2017, Dadashov made his debut for the Azerbaijani national team when he was substituted on for Araz Abdullayev in the 72nd minute of the 5-1 win in the World Cup qualifier against San Marino .
