The Residenzweg is a circular hiking trail that leads around the Lippe town of Detmold in a total of 57 km through the Lipper Bergland . It owes its name to the residence of the Principality of Lippe . The path is signposted with an  R.

The path leads from Lage via the former Gut Ottenhausen to Meschesee in the Pivitsheide district , Schwarzenbrinker Straße. It leads through the Hasselbachtal and past Donoperteich and Krebsteich to Hiddesen . From there it goes through the village of Heiligenkirchen through the valley of the Berlebecke along the Ortmühle.

In the Teutoburg Forest , the path is signposted twice and is part of the Hermannsweg (  H  ), in the course of which the Hermann monument is touched.

Donoper pond

The Donoper pond is part of the Residenzweg and is located in the Hasselbachtal. In the immediate vicinity is the Hiddeser Bent , a raised bog . In this hollow there is a cool, humid climate, which favors the growth of peat mosses, which over thousands of years have formed a peat layer up to two meters thick over the nutrient-poor sand layer with water-retaining subsoil. In 1925 it was declared a homeland reserve, and since 1950 a nature reserve . In the surrounding forest there are several mast oaks and mast beeches planted over 200 years ago.
