The Revolution Smile is an indie / alternative metal band from Sacramento , USA, founded in 2000 .

history

The band was formed in 2000 by former Far guitarist Shaun Lopez after briefly playing in an early version of the Rival Schools led by former Quicksand frontman Walter Schreifels and auditioning for several bands, including the Foo Fighters . In November 2000, The Revolution released Smile At War with Plastic , a Lopez-produced 6-song EP that Animation Records distributed worldwide.

In January 2001 The Revolution Smile strengthened their lineup with Octavio Gallardo on bass, Tim McCord on guitar, and Jeremy White on drums. They started working on the successor to At War with Plastic . We Are in This Alone was finished in the fall of 2001 and should be released shortly afterwards. In January 2002, We Are in This Alone ended up in the hands of Geffen Records , who signed the band. Geffen wanted to release a remix of We Are in This Alone , but the band wanted to record a new album.

In July 2002 the band took Above the Noise with Dave Sardy and Shaun Lopez in co-production. In January 2003 Andy Wallace mixed Above the Noise . From then on, The Revolution Smile played alongside the Deftones , Dredg , The Music , Marilyn Manson , Korn and others to present their album nationally. In September 2003, The Revolution Smile toured with the Deftones and A Perfect Circle . They also played on the Jimmy Kimmel Show. Jeremy White was briefly replaced by Stephen Hoke.

January 2004 the band got out of their record deal. In July 2004 the band played on the Warped Tour alongside My Chemical Romance , Rise Against , Atmosphere and From Autumn to Ashes . In June 2005 the band finished the album Summer Ever , which was also produced by Shaun Lopez. Lopez then took the time to produce other bands. Among other things, Giant Drag and the Deftones fifth album Saturday Night Wrist. In August 2006, it was announced on the radio station Indie 103.1 that Summer Ever would be released in September via Animation Records.
