rheinmaintv is a private television broadcaster for Frankfurt and the extended Rhine-Main area , based in the Mörfeld industrial park east in Mörfelden-Walldorf .

history

In 1995, the Bibo TV production company founded the Rhein-Main-Ballungsraum-Fernsehen-Verwaltungsgesellschaft to set up and operate a regional television station. The Hessian State Media Authority for Private Broadcasting and New Media in Kassel granted this company approval for the rheinmaintv project on April 8, 2002 . In the same year the construction of the broadcasting center in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe began. Rheinmaintv began broadcasting on October 27, 2003. With the departure of the founding partner Bibo TV on June 13, 2005, the move to the neighboring new building was not carried out. In addition to a number of private investors and communication agencies, Eintracht Frankfurt and Skyliners GmbH also hold shares in the company. Until January 31, 2014, the broadcasting center was in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe . Since February 2014, rheinmaintv has been broadcasting from Mörfelden-Walldorf in 16: 9 with full PAL resolution (720 × 576).
