Richard Beek

Richard Beek (born February 17, 1924 in Ulm , † August 17, 2007 in Munich ) was a German actor in film, television and theater. He gained fame above all as a stage actor at the Münchner Kammerspiele , of which he was a member for 46 years.

life and career

Beek made his debut as a theater actor at the age of 21 and was engaged at the Münchner Kammerspiele from 1955 to 2001. At the beginning of the 2001/2002 season he moved to the Bavarian State Theater with Dieter Dorn and large parts of the ensemble . His last major role was the servant Wenzel in the play Cherubim based on a novel by Werner Fritsch .

His film career includes several cinema productions for the director Ottokar Runze, including films such as The Knife in the Back , Lost Life , The Murderer or Star Without a Sky , as well as works by the filmmaker Richard Blank Friedliche Tage , Doris Dörrie Happy Birthday, Turk! , as well as films for directors such as Bruno Jonas , Hardy Martins , Dagmar Knöpfel , Sebastian Schipper , Marc Rothemund , Zoltan Spirandelli Vaya con Dios or the comedy From Searching and Finding Love by Helmut Dietl .

Richard Beek died on August 17, 2007 at the age of 83 in Munich.
