Richard Forthuber

Richard Forthuber (born September 18, 1882 in Kaiserslautern , † May 23, 1957 in Landau in the Palatinate ) was a German administrative lawyer and municipal official.

Life

Forthuber studied law at the Julius Maximilians University . In 1902 he was reciprocated with Hans Windels in the Corps Rhenania Würzburg . In 1907 he was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD. From 1920 he was mayor of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse . Five days after the Reichstag elections in March 1933 he was removed from office by Gauleiter Josef Bürckel for "unreliability" and taken into " protective custody ". Forthuber is on the prisoner lists of the (early) concentration camp Neustadt , but was not in the camp, but in room detention, prison ( Neustadt an der Weinstrasse district court ) and hospital. At the end of July 1933 he was released from protective custody. In 1938 he joined the National Socialist People's Welfare . After the war, the French hesitation denazified he was on May 3, 1945. Acting mayor of Landau and on May 5, 1945 District Administrator of the district Landau appointed. He remained district administrator until October 31, 1949. He is buried in the main cemetery in Landau.
