Richard Istel

Richard Istel (born August 5, 1999 in Leipzig ) is a German singer and songwriter .

Life

Istel gained his first musical experience at a very young age at the Schola Cantorum music school in Leipzig. In 2006 he started school and began his violin training at the Johann Sebastian Bach Music School in Leipzig. He gained his first experience on stage together with his father Doc Lehmann . He learned cover songs and presented them at smaller gigs.

In 2008 he applied to the Austrian talent show Kiddy Contest , but without success.

With the help of his parents, Istel decided to apply to the casting show “ Das Supertalent ” in 2009 and was promptly invited to the casting in Berlin . He survived all pre-castings and was allowed to present two songs on the big show stage in front of Dieter Bohlen and Co. in August 2009 at the age of 10 and received a triple “Yes”. He made it to the semi-finals and reached the final there with the performance of the song I'll Be There by Michael Jackson . With the song Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen he finally reached the 5th place.

After the show, Istel was able to gain further experience on big stages, especially during the Super Talent tour through twelve cities across Germany, the appearance at Nena's big birthday show and at the Powerchildgala in Munich .

At the beginning of 2011, Istel registered on the musician platform Teenage Rockstar and took part in their annual competition. In April 2012 he came second as "Musician of the Year". He got an invitation to the Teenage Rockstar Summer Camp in Gmunden in Austria. He was coached there for a week by Christof Straub and Edina Thalhammer ( Papermoon ). The camp ended with an appearance at the festival of lights in Gmunden in front of 10,000 spectators.

In 2011, Istel won the “Dein Song” competition at the Rewe Fest in Düsseldorf with his first own song, World's Turning , the lyrics are from his sister Lisa. As a result, he received an invitation to vocal coaching with Kate Hall in Berlin.

In 2011, Istel won the German preliminary decision for the Europop contest in Berlin, after which he reached 3rd place in the international final.

In April 2012, Istel received an invitation to Latvia and appeared on a major television show there. He also began classical vocal training at the Johann Sebastian Bach Music School in Leipzig. In addition to his violin training, he began to learn guitar and piano .

In 2013, Istel received an invitation to Konin (Poland) to the International Children's Song and Dance contest and was the winner of over 24 participating nations in the age group 13 to 16.

2012-2013 Istel was an integral part of the ensemble “Young Stars in Concert”, a music show in Lünen .

In August 2013, Istel took part in “Singing Young Stars” in Salzburg . He also won the competition there and received an invitation to vocal coaching with star coach Robin D.

In 2013, Istel took part in the talent show " The Voice Kids ". He made it to the finals in the Lena Meyer-Landrut team .

Istel lives in Berlin .
