Richard Lattorf

Richard Lattorf (born May 15, 1864 in Tiefendorf near Löbau ; † February 3, 1959 in Ahlem ) was a German businessman , industrial manager and general director of Naturasphalt AG .

Life

Richard Lattorf completed a commercial apprenticeship in the Egestorffschen ultramarine factory founded by Georg Egestorff in Linden (on Davenstedter Straße at the height of today's Westschnellweg ), where he was promoted to accountant .

Lattorf had previously worked for the British company The United Limmer and Vorwohle Rock Asphalt Ltd. entered, the so-called " English asphalt ". There he was promoted to director in 1903 and director general in 1905. As such, he had Bodenstabstrasse , a historic country road in Ahlem , expanded and paved. The street was named after him in 1935.

After 62 years of service, Richard Lattorf retired in 1952 . He was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon and after his death was buried in the forest cemetery in Ahlem .

Even as a young man, Lattorf was an avid high cyclist and a co-founder of the Hanover Bicycle Club from 1881 . Later he founded the English language association English Circle .

Honors

  • An old country road in Ahlem was renamed from Bodenstabstraße to Richard-Lattorf-Straße in 1935.
  • Richard Lattorf was honored with the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon.
