history

Richzenhain, first mentioned in 1282, was laid out as a single-row forest hoof village. It belonged to the Rochlitz office until the middle of the 19th century, then to the Hartha court office and from 1875 to the administrative authority, then to the district or district of Döbeln , which in 2008 became the district of central Saxony. In 1905 the western part of the village was incorporated into Hartha and the eastern part to Waldheim.

In Richzenhain (Waldheimer part) there was a brewery since 1898 , which ceased production in 1996. The buildings have been renovated since 2001 and serve as an event location. Beer has been brewing again on a smaller scale since 2018.
