Christian Rickerts (born April 28, 1975 in Hanover ) is a German manager , management consultant and political official . Since December 2016, Rickerts has been State Secretary of the Berlin Senate Administration for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises in Senate Müller II .

Life

Christian Rickerts studied political science at the Free University of Berlin .

In 1995 Rickerts was a co-founder of the Schüler Helfen Leben association , which he later headed as managing director. Later he was the managing director of the foundation of the same name, founded in 2002.

Rickerts was then a Strategic Consultant at the management consultancy Capgemini Germany since 2007 , and from 2009 Managing Director of Reporters Without Borders in Germany. He joined the Bertelsmann Stiftung as Vice President Corporate Communications in 2012. On May 1, 2015, he took up the position of Managing Director at Wikimedia Germany , which he held until the change as State Secretary.

Since December 8, 2016, Christian Rickerts has been State Secretary for Economic Policy and Economic System as well as Energy and Digital ("State Secretary for Digitization") in the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises of the Berlin Senate , headed by Ramona Pop ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) .
