Rill Baxter (born October 26, 1962 in Sarasota , Florida ) is a retired American tennis player .

Life

Baxter played for Pepperdine University while studying economics and was voted one of the Best All-American selections in 1982 . After graduating, he became a professional tennis player in 1985. First he played on the ATP Challenger Tour , where he won his first double title that same year alongside Glenn Michibata . The following year he won two more double titles on the Challenger Tour. In the course of his career he was able to win a total of five double titles on the ATP Challenger Tour. His greatest successes on the ATP World Tour were finals in ATP Metz with Nduka Odizor and in Wellington with Glenn Michibata. He reached his highest ranking in the tennis world rankings in 1987 with position 316 in singles and position 69 in doubles.

In the individual, he could never qualify for a Grand Slam tournament. In the doubles competition, he reached the second round of the Australian Open , the French Open and the US Open . In 1987 he was also in the second round of the mixed competition of the French Open.
