Ringleben is a district of Bad Frankenhausen / Kyffhäuser in the east of the Kyffhäuserkreis in Thuringia (Germany).
geography
Ringleben lies between the wide valley of the Unstrut and the Kyffhäuser Mountains in a very fertile area, which is also called Das Ried . The landscape of the Goldene Aue (located north of the Kyffhäuser) and the Diamantene Aue (located south of the Kyffhäuser) meet. The town of Artern is 5 km away, Bad Frankenhausen about 10 km and the Saxon-Anhalt town of Sangerhausen about 12 km.
history
The first written mention of Ringleben ( Rinkelebo ) dates back to 786 . It is believed that the place existed for 400 years at the time. Ringleben belonged in turn to the Counts of Stolberg , the Lords of Heldrungen and the Counts of Schwarzburg . At Ringleben, which was equipped with reinforced gates and walls, there was a thing site . This is where justice was given in the 16th century. The community was at the intersection of two old trade and military routes (Heerstraße from Bad Frankenhausen to Artern and Handelsstraße from Erfurt to Lübeck ). Until 1918 the place belonged to the rule of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .
On January 1, 2019, the community of Ringleben was incorporated into the city of Bad Frankenhausen / Kyffhäuser. The community belonged to the administrative community Mittelzentrum Artern .

Ringleben is on the direct connection road from Bad Frankenhausen to Artern. From these two cities, federal highways lead in all directions. 10 km to the north you can get to the federal motorway 38 via the Sangerhausen-West motorway junction . The federal motorway 71 crosses the Unstrut about 2 km east of Ringleben , the nearest junction is Artern. The next train station is also in Artern on the Sangerhausen – Erfurt railway line .
