distribution

Rivella is considered a national drink of Switzerland. In 2013, Rivella AG's market share in terms of value in the Swiss soft drinks market was 15.3 percent. Rivella is number 2 after Coca-Cola .

In the Principality of Liechtenstein , the Netherlands and Luxembourg Rivella is available for some time. Rivella Light was launched as a diabetes drink in the Netherlands in 1958 , and a year later (1959) it came onto the Swiss market as Rivella Blau . The Netherlands is now Rivella's largest foreign market. Sales to Germany will be discontinued in 2019 because it was not possible to gain a foothold on the German market. Rivella is also available in the border regions of France and Austria .

The market presence abroad differs from that in Switzerland. In the 1960s and 1970s, Rivella was offered in Germany under the brand name Larell in order to avoid competitive conflicts with the German lemonade brand Libella . The name was later changed there to Rivella.

Rivella Green was added to the range in 1999.

There was a relaunch of the entire Rivella brand in 2007, with a new look and a new bottle policy. The founder Robert Barth died on March 29, 2007 at the age of 85 in Rothrist in the canton of Aargau. The company continues to be owned by the founder's family. In 2008, the largest Swiss grocery retailer, Migros , switched from its previous own brand Mivella to branded products from Rivella ( Mivella was also manufactured by Rivella on behalf of Migros). The Rivella CLIQ Peach and Rhubarb brands were launched in the beverage market in 2014. In 2016 there was a relaunch with a new design and logo.
