The Rivière Magog ( English Magog River ) is a river in the administrative region Estrie in the extreme south of the Canadian province of Québec .

The river drains in Magog the Lake Memphremagog . It flows over a distance of 31.8 km in a northeast direction to Sherbrooke , where it flows into the Rivière Saint-François .

Hydropower plants

There are several dams and seven hydropower plants along the course of the river. They are operated by the two energy suppliers Hydro-Magog and Hydro-Sherbrooke . The hydropower plants use the slope of the Rivière Magog of 64 m and have an installed capacity of around 14 MW. The Rock Forest dam dams the river to Lac Magog .
