The Rivière aux Saumons ( French for " salmon river") is a right tributary of the Rivière Massawippi in the administrative region of Estrie in the Canadian province of Québec .

The Rivière aux Saumons has its origin in Lac Lindsay - about 10 km from the state border with the USA . It flows in a predominantly north-westerly direction through the MRC Coaticook . He passes the place Martinville . In Milby opens Rivière Moe left side into the river. On the lower reaches of the river are the places Huntingville and Lennoxville , which were incorporated into the city of Sherbrooke (at the same time an equivalent to an MRC) in 2002 . The Rivière aux Saumons meets the Rivière Massawippi 2 km south of the center of Lennoxville. The river length is 45 km.

The river used to be called Rivière Ascot .

Hydropower plants

In Huntingville, Boralex operates a small hydropower plant ( ) with an output of 500  kW on the Rivière aux Saumons .
