The Rivière des Anglais (in the US : English River ) is a right tributary of the Rivière Châteauguay in the US state of New York and in the Canadian province of Québec .
The Rivière des Anglais has its origin near Churubusco in Clinton County in the north of the US state New York. It flows in an easterly direction parallel to the Canadian border. Eventually the river turns north. It crosses the border into Canada and flows through the MRC Le Haut-Saint-Laurent in a predominantly northerly direction. Route 202 crosses the Rivière des Anglais about 7 km downstream from the state border . At Saint-Chrysostome the Rivière Noire flows into the river on the left. From Saint-Chrysostome, Route 203 runs along the right bank of the river. The Rivière des Anglais takes the Ruisseau Norton on the right and passes the municipality of Howick . Eventually the river reaches the Rivière Châteauguay. The Route 138 crosses the flow immediately before its mouth. The Rivière des Anglais has a length of about 65 km - half of it in the USA. The catchment area covers approximately 650 km².
