The Roßbach is a left tributary of the Landwehrbach in the Emscher river system . Its source is located in the Langeloh in the east of the urban area of Herne at an altitude of 118  m above sea level. NN . The confluence with the Landwehrbach takes place in the Castrop-Rauxeler district of Behringhausen .

The stream has a length of about 4 km. It flows below the source in a north-easterly direction and after about 1 km, still in Langeloh, reaches the city limits of Castrop-Rauxel. As far as Behringhauser Feld, the stream forms the natural border between the two cities. In this section, the direction of flow is north.

In Behringhausen the Pannekampgraben, also called Pannekampbach, flows into the Roßbach. The Pannekampgraben also has its origin in the city of Herne and is called the Holthauser Bach there.
