Roßmeiersdorf is a district of the municipality of Westheim in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district in Middle Franconia . It has 57 inhabitants and is located at an altitude of 447 m above sea level.
The village is located near the municipal boundary of Auhausen in the Donau-Ries district . Westheim is about one kilometer as the crow flies to the north. The Lothbach, a left tributary of the Wörnitz, flows through the village .
There were several settlements from prehistoric times near Roßmeiersdorf .
The settlement was probably founded as early as the Carolingian period (7th-9th centuries). Since the place name is of Slavic origin, it can also be assumed that the first settlers were Slavs . Originally Roßmeiersdorf belonged to the Auhausen Monastery , later it became the property of the Heidenheim Monastery .
The main street of the village is the district road WUG 30 . Communal roads lead to Pagenhard , Zirndorf and Westheim, as well as to federal highway 466 .
The inn in Roßmeiersdorf is an architectural monument and a two-storey gable- roof building with decorative friezes and corner pilasters from 1896. The two-storey farmhouse Roßmeiersdorf 2 with a half - hipped roof from 1857 with its annex from the 19th century is also a monument.
