Robert Badenberg

Robert Badenberg (born June 6, 1961 ) is a German evangelical theologian , missiologist , cultural anthropologist , lecturer and author in the fields of theology, missiology, and cultural anthropology.

Live and act

Badenberg completed an apprenticeship as a mechanical engineer and toolmaker from 1976 to 1979 and from 1982 to 1987 a theological training at the theological seminar of the Liebenzell Mission . From 1989 to 2003 he worked as a missionary for the Liebenzeller Mission in Zambia (South Africa). He completed his "Master of Arts in Missiology" studies in 1999 with Lothar Käser at the Academy for World Mission (AWM), the German branch of Columbia International University in Korntal, with his master's thesis on The body, soul and spirit concept of the Bemba in Zambia , an investigation into the human image of the Bemba , an ethnic group in northern Zambia. In 2001 he received his PhD from the University of South Africa (UniSA) with his dissertation on Sickness and Healing: A Case Study on the Dialectic of Culture and Personality . This was followed by several years of activity, initially as a guest lecturer in the MA course, then as a lecturer at the Academy for World Mission for training in the areas of missiology, cultural anthropology, intercultural competence & leadership, as a lecturer at the TS Institute for Therapeutic Pastoral Care and as a lecturer for ethnology and intercultural communication at the European Training Program (ETP) of Wycliff Germany. Badenberg worked for six years on a Bible translation project and on cultural anthropological research. His teaching activities took him to various training centers in Germany and Croatia.

In addition, Badenberg was a curator at the Institute for Evangelical Mission , as a language lecturer at the VHS Bavaria in adult education and as a speaker at panel discussions and motorcyclist services and was involved in the leadership group of Gemeinde Unterwegs .

Since the end of 2016, he has been working with the Christian Specialists International Development Service (CFI) in the Teacher Support Unit of the Emmanuel Teacher Training College (ETTC) in Malawi , where he accompanies young teachers in their first years of employment.

Private

Robert Badenberg is married to Rita. The couple has two children and lives in Ursheim am Hahnenkamm.
