Robert Blalack

Robert "Robbie" Blalack (born December 9, 1948 in the Panama Canal Zone , Panama ) is an Oscar- winning film technician who specializes in visual effects .

Life

After graduating from St Paul's School Blalack soon was working on the first Star Wars film Star Wars , for which he, along with John Stears , John Dykstra , Richard Edlund and Grant McCune the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects received, which has remained his greatest success so far. His last job in the movie business was directing Akbar's Adventure Tours in 1998, an adventure comedy starring Martin Short and Eugene Levy .
