Robert Coppola Schwartzman also Robert Schwartzman-Cage or Robert Carmine ; (Born December 24, 1982 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actor , singer and songwriter .

Life and career

Schwartzman is one of the three children of film producer Jack Schwartzman and actress Talia Shire . He is also the brother of Jason Schwartzman (former drummer and founding member of the band Phantom Planet ), the nephew of Francis Ford Coppola , the cousin of Nicolas Cage and Sofia Coppola, and the half-brother of John Schwartzman .

In 1998 he got a small supporting role in Sofia Coppola's short film Lick the Star . A year later, this resulted Director at The Virgin Suicides , here Schwartzman played the role of the next-known actors Paul Baldino .

One of his best-known roles is that of Michael Moscovitz in Garry Marshall's 2001 film Suddenly Princess . Before it hit theaters, he intended to change his name to Robert Cage, based on his famous cousin Nicolas Cage .
