Robert Feustel
Robert Feustel (* 1979 in Dresden ) is a German political scientist and journalist .
Life
Feustel studied political science and modern history at the University of Leipzig and at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid . In 2012 he received his doctorate with a thesis on the cultural history of intoxication. From 2006 to 2016 he was a lecturer and employee at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Leipzig. Since 2017 he has been a research assistant in the PODESTA project in the sociology of knowledge and social theory department at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena .
Feustel's focus is on political theory and the history of science . He researches digitization , right-wing populism , urban development , as well as drugs and intoxication . He occasionally publishes in regional and national newspapers and appears as an expert on right-wing populist language and demagogy.
The “Dictionary of the Worried Citizen”, which he published together with Nancy Grochol, Tobias Prüwer and Franziska Reif in 2016, explains right-wing populist terms such as “Bahnhofsklatscher”, “Invasionsarmee” or “Verschwulung” in the form of a dictionary . The book was very well received, also in the media, wrote the Tagesspiegel , for example , that the book was “highly topical because the regulars' table has gained more influence in the age of the Internet.” Arte said: “Who wants to know how concerned citizens are tick, must understand their language.
