Robert Karl Wizinger-Aust

Robert Karl Wizinger-Aust (born April 28, 1896 in Vic-sur-Seille , Lorraine , † April 1, 1973 in Basel ; also: Robert Wizinger ) was a German chemist .

Life

He was the son of Mayor Michael Wizinger . From 1914 to 1920 Wizinger-Aust studied at the Universities of Strasbourg , Stuttgart , Tübingen , Karlsruhe and most recently at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn , where he finally received his PhD in 1925. phil. received his doctorate .

From 1934 he was a professor at the University of Bonn, then at the Universities of Zurich , Freiburg i. Br. And Basel . In Basel he was director of the Institute for Color Chemistry. Winzinger-Aust researched color chemistry, the mechanism of addition and substitution reactions, and organic complex chemistry . He was a member of the Society of German Chemists .
