Robert Leavitt
Robert Grandison Leavitt (born September 20, 1883 in Dorchester (Massachusetts) , † February 22, 1954 in South Hanover , Massachusetts ) was an American athlete . With a height of 1.80 m, he had a competition weight of 73 kg.
During his college days at Williams College, Robert Leavitt ran 120-yard hurdles for 15.8 seconds in 1905. At the 1906 Olympic Intermediate Games , Leavitt won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.2 seconds. He crossed the finish line at the same time as the Briton Alfred Healey , but was seen by the finishers after a long discussion with one foot forward.
Leavitt spent many years at the Brighton Cooperative Bank in Massachusetts after dropping out of college.
