Roberto Rodríguez (Bishop)

Roberto Rodríguez (born August 14, 1936 in Temperley ) is an Argentine clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of La Rioja .

Life

Roberto Rodríguez was ordained a priest on January 31, 1970 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Córdoba and titular bishop of Pertusa on November 12, 1992 . He was ordained bishop on December 22nd of the same year by the Archbishop of Cordoba , Cardinal Raúl Francisco Primatesta ; Co- consecrators were Estanislao Esteban Karlic , Archbishop of Paraná , and Jesús Arturo Roldán , Bishop of San Rafael .

He was appointed Bishop of Villa María on June 23, 1998, and was introduced to the office on September 13 of the same year. Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of La Rioja on May 24, 2006 .

On July 9, 2013, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
