Rochford is a district in Essex , England . It was formed on April 1, 1974 and resulted from the merger of the Rayleigh Urban District and the Rochford Rural District . Although the district is named after Rochford , the largest town is Rayleigh . Rochford has been a twin town of Haltern am See since 1984 .
