Rodolfo José Fischer Eichler (born April 2, 1944 in Oberá , Misiones province ) is a former Argentine national soccer player of German-Brazilian descent. His will to win earned the tall, headed striker the nickname El Lobo , the "wolf". He won three championships with the Argentine club CA San Lorenzo de Almagro and is one of the most successful strikers in the club's history. He also played for Botafogo FR in Brazil and Once Caldas in Colombia, among others .

Rodolfo "El Lobo" Fischer joined the youth of the top club CA San Lorenzo de Almagro in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires in 1963, in whose combat team he moved up in 1965. In 1968 he was with San Lorenzo under the Brazilian coach Elba de Pádua Lima "Tim" undefeated winner of the Torneo Metropolitano - the first championship success without defeat in the history of Argentine professional football. After he was the top scorer in the second half of the national championship with 14 goals in 1969 , he won both championships with San Lorenzo in 1972. He had a personal highlight in April 1972 when he contributed three goals to a 4-0 win against CA River Plate .

From 1967 he also played 35 games for the national team for which he scored 12 goals. His last appearance for the Albiceleste was in Brazil in 1972 at the Taça Independência , in which Argentina finished fourth and Fischer was the second best scorer together with the Portuguese Joaquim Dinis .

After this tournament he stayed in Brazil and played there for four years in Rio de Janeiro with Botafogo FR , who paid him a million cruzeiros . From 1977 to 1978 he returned to Argentina to San Lorenzo, for whom he scored a total of 141 goals in 271 league games, making him one of the best scorers in the club's history.

In 1979 he went abroad again to the Colombian club Once Caldas in Manizales for which he scored eleven goals in 40 league games. He finally ended his career in 1980 with CA Sarmiento in Junín in the province of Buenos Aires and in 1981 with Sportivo Belgrano in the province of Córdoba .

These days he is living on a farm in the Argentinean hinterland.
