Banatski Dvor ( Serbian - Cyrillic Банатски Двор ; Hungarian: since 1867 Szőlősudvarnok before Törzsudvarnok ; German: Rogensdorf , Rogendorf or Roggendorf ) is a village in the Opština Žitište in Vojvodina ( Serbia ). According to the 2002 census, the place had 1263 inhabitants.

Banatski Dvor is located northwest of the city of Žitište . The road between Zrenjanin and the Romanian city ​​of Timișoara runs through the village .

history

Today the village of Bantaski Dvor, the two former independent villages Banatski Dvor and (Banatski) Dušanovac, which have slowly merged into today's village since 1921. Banatski Dvor was first mentioned under the name Udvarnok in 1332. This was followed in the 14th and 15th centuries as Selešudvarnok (Hungarian: Szőlősudvarnok). This places the place in the list of the oldest places in the Banat.

In 1921 the immigration of Serbian settlers from Trebinje , Bileća and Glamoč began . They gave the place the name Banatski Dvor.

economy

Below the site is an underground storage facility for natural gas , which, following the joint venture established in 2010 between the Serbian gas company Srbijagas and the Russian company Gazprom , went into operation in October 2011 and is to be connected to the South Stream natural gas pipeline .

Demographics

In the village live 987 age population whose average age at 38.7 years is (40.6 in the female population and 38.8 in males). An average of 2.94 people live in the 429 households . Statistics from 2002 show a Serbian majority of around 47%. Since 1948 the population has fallen by almost half from 2177 at that time.

The Serbian Orthodox branch church of St. Venerable Mother Petka Paraskeva from 2000 is in the village . There are also two Roman Catholic churches in Banatski Dvor. In the village part of Banatski Dvor, the church of St. Virgin Rosalia and, in the Dušanovac part of the village, the Church of the Nativity of Mary , consecrated to the Nativity of Mary .
