Roger Dee Aycock

Roger Dee Aycock (known by his pen name Roger Dee ; born December 6, 1914 in Floyd County , Georgia ; died April 5, 2004 in Rome , Georgia) was an American science fiction writer.

Life

During the time of the Depression , Aycock worked as a postman. During World War II he served three years in the US Army Signal Corps . His first science fiction story, The Wheel Is Death , appeared in Planet Stories in 1949 . In the 1950s he was a prolific writer for Pulp magazines . After 1971 nothing was published.

His novel An Earth Gone Mad (1954), a conventional dystopia of a world under totalitarian mind control, has been translated into German, Japanese and Italian. In addition to German, his stories have also been translated into French, Spanish, Italian and Croatian.
