Kent Roger Hansson (born July 13, 1967 in Helsingborg ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player and current - trainer and - functional , who between 1984 and 2003 for Malmö IF in the Swedish Elitserien , Rögle BK in the HockeyAllsvenskan and the Kassel Huskies in the German Hockey League played. With the Swedish national team , he won the gold medal at the 1994 Winter Olympics .
Career
Hansson already played ice hockey successfully in his youth with Rögle BK , so that before the start of the 1987/88 season the Vancouver Canucks from the National Hockey League signed him, which had selected him in the eleventh round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft in 213rd position . However, the striker did not play a single NHL game for the Canucks.
The native Swede stormed almost 200 games for Malmö IF in the Elitserien - the highest Swedish ice hockey league - from 1991 to 1996 and convinced there in five years with over 100 points scorer . He also won the gold medal in ice hockey with the Swedish national team at the 1994 Winter Olympics .
After he moved to the Kassel Huskies in the German ice hockey league in the 1996/97 season , he won the German runner- up with the North Hesse in the same season. Although the following years in Germany were less successful, he and his team made it to the play-off semi-finals in 2000 and 2001 under the coach of the time, Hans Zach .
After five years of playing in Kassel and over 230 DEL games with over 120 scorer points, he returned to Sweden, where he ended his career at Rögle BK and became the club's managing director. His team from Ängelholm made it into the Elitserien in 2008 . He worked in this position until 2010 before Hansson worked as an assistant coach at Rögle BK for two seasons.
For the 2019/20 season he was hired by the Swiss Swiss League club EVZ Academy as head coach.
