Roger Thiriet

Roger Thiriet (born October 5, 1949 ) is a Swiss journalist and screenwriter .

Life

Thiriet attended primary school from 1956 to 1960 and the Humanist Gymnasium in Basel from 1960 to 1968 , from which he graduated with the Matura Type A (Latin and Ancient Greek). He then studied English , Romance studies and history at the University of Basel and graduated in 1975 with a licentiate .

From 1969 to 1973 he was speaker, editor and presenter for the Swiss radio DRS and Swiss television DRS . In 1970/71 he worked as a substitute teacher for French at the Humanistic Gymnasium. He later wrote columns and glosses for the local Anzeiger Doppelstab and the weekly newspaper Weltwoche . He also made a language study trip to London . From 1984 to 1997 he held senior positions at Radio Basilisk and from 1987 to 1992 at the Basler Zeitung . At Radio Eviva he was program director and member of the management from 1992 to 1997.

Since 1995 he has been a scriptwriter for the soap opera «Café Bâle», which is produced by the Basler Zeitung and Basilea-Film . His one-man company Roger Thiriet Texte has been in existence since 1998 . He offers scripts for video, films and television, media concepts, media training, moderation, journalistic texts and speaking assignments. Since 2006 he has also been the media officer of the Evangelical Reformed Church in the canton of Basel-Stadt .

In the military, Thiriet had the degree of sergeant in info regiment 1 (formerly press and radio communications department ). He is married to the local politician Irène Thiriet-Wunderlin and has two grown children. Thiriet is entitled to reside in Rohr and Basel and lives in Basel.
