Roh was a band from Hamburg that existed between 1996 and 2000. Roh initially belonged to the rock / punk genre, but later changed their style towards pop / comedy .

history

The three-man band Roh was composed of experienced musicians. Before joining the band, Lukas Hilbert performed solo with Hauden & Lukas and for and with Udo Lindenberg . As a solo artist, he has also released albums under his first name. Carsten Pape was very successful with clowns and heroes during the NDW period .

Roh was a band that released three very different albums. The debut album How do I get the time to my funeral around was a typical rock band album as you can still find it today. Among other things, you can find the song Today is my day , which Blümchen later sang in a techno version, as well as songs about death, chocolate and the Kelly Family . Two years later, the album What many did not dare to sing caused a sensation , on which mainly letters from the Bravo were set to music. It's about masturbation , about parents you've heard from having sex, and weird pimples in the oral cavity. The band appeared several times on television, for example with Andreas Türck . After another two years, the Hamburg combo's last album was released. Rohmantisch is pervaded by love songs, among other things the classic clown and hero I love you is set to music by Lukas. After a tour with Peter Maffay , the band broke up.

Carsten Pape now appears with Lotto King Karl . Lukas Hilbert also worked with Lotto King Karl at times, but is now performing solo again.

Trivia

In 2000, Roh appeared as the backing band for Lotto King Karl in the preliminary round of the Grand Prix. This was done in return, because he gave ten marks to every audience member at raw concerts so that they could watch the concert. As a thank you, Roh wrote this song and played the instruments.
