Carsten Pape (* 1956 in Hamburg-Wilstorf ) is a Hamburg singer and songwriter .

Life

Pape was the singer of the band Clowns & Helden in the 1980s and co-wrote the group's biggest hit, I love you . After their separation in 1989 he appeared mainly as a solo artist, but also as part of the duo Vopá . In the same year his album Der Gang eines Sizilianers was released . Pape tied in with the musical style of clowns & heroes.

He then retired as a musician and worked in marketing before he recorded three albums with his new band Roh from the mid-1990s and kept a video diary about them for the NDR . He was also hired by Universal as a songwriter, where he wrote titles for Udo Lindenberg , Nena , Peter Maffay and Vicky Leandros, among others . A techno version of the title Heut ist mein Tag , originally written for Roh's debut album, sung by Blümchen , landed in the charts in five European countries, and even at number 1 in Norway.

Pape also appears with Lotto King Karl before the Hamburger SV games in the Volksparkstadion and produced the album Friends with him in 2005 . Together the two musicians released the single in 2004, It's so much fun to fuck with you! Lotto King Karl recorded the song flies with Papes band Roh.

At the end of September 2007 he published his storyteller album Es Lebt , the following year the debut album Von Delphinen, Shallows and other possibilities appeared with his new project "Papes Brüder". From September 2008 Pape appeared at the home games of the Hamburg Freezers ice hockey club . He has also made guest appearances on stages in northern Germany with solo programs.

In July 2008 his book “Kreativ-Pause” was published, in which he dealt with the musician scene in the form of a fictitious story from the life of the traveling salesman Jacques Niebaum.

In September 2010 the album BRD-POP was released , on which a new version of I love you was released.

Since October 2011 he has been appearing regularly in the box hall of the Hamburger Kammerspiele , together with the Hamburg author Armin Sengbusch and the voice actor Viktor Hacker in the literature show Feuerbrüder .

On August 24, 2018, the album Fan der Fans was released with the rapper Elvis . The album entered the German charts at number 24 on August 31, 2018.
