Rok Jakopič (born July 11, 1987 in Jesenice , SR Slovenia ) is a Slovenian - Croatian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Al Ain Theebs in the Emirates Ice Hockey League since 2012 .
Career
Rok Jakopič began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HK Jesenice , the HD mladi Jesenice , for which he was active in the Slovenian junior league from 2003 to 2007. At the same time, the attacker played for the HK HIT Casino Kranjska Gora in the Slovenian ice hockey league from 2003 to 2006 and for the professional team at HK Jesenice in the Interliga from 2005 to 2007 . In the 2007/08 season Jakopič scored 28 goals and a total of 46 scorer points in 33 games for the HD mladi Jesenice, making it the top goalscorer and top scorer in the league. During the following season he was used more often at HK Jesenice in the Austrian ice hockey league .
In the summer of 2009 Jakopič was committed by the KHL Medveščak Zagreb , which was newly admitted to the Austrian ice hockey league. There he did not fall under the quota of foreigners due to his dual citizenship. At Medveščak he was immediately used regularly, where he also ran for the second team in the Slohokej League , with which he was also Croatian champion . The 2010/11 season he started again with Medveščak, for which he scored two goals and two assists in 20 games and with the newly founded cooperation partner, the Zagreb team , in the Slohokej League. In December 2010, the dual national moved to the fourth German division, the Bavarian Ice Hockey League , in which he scored 25 scorer points in a total of 20 games, including twelve goals, for EC Pfaffenhofen by the end of the season. He then left the club again and joined the HDD Bled from the Slohokej League for the 2011/12 season . The season itself, however, he ended with the Al Ain Theebs in the Emirates Ice Hockey League .
International
For Slovenia , Jakopič took part in the junior division of the U18 Junior B World Championships in 2004 and 2005 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 2006 and 2007 .
