Rolf Danneberg

Rolf Danneberg (born March 1, 1953 in Hamburg ) is a former German athlete who - starting for the Federal Republic - won the gold medal in the discus throw at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles (64.74 - invalid - 63.64 - 66, 60 m - invalid - 66.22).

Rolf Danneberg started for the LG Wedel-Pinneberg , from 1990 for Bayer 04 Leverkusen . From 1978 to 1990 he reached a place among the top three at the German championships, in 1980, 1988 and 1989 he won the title. He is 1.98 m tall and weighed 125 kg when he was active. His best performance is 67.60 m, set up in 1987 in Berlin.

He was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf for his sporting success.
