Rolf Friedrich Krause

Rolf Friedrich Krause (born October 3, 1956 in Kiel ) is a German diplomat who is currently Consul General in Marseille .

Life

After graduating from high school in Mannheim and then completing military service , which he completed with the rank of lieutenant in the reserve , he studied geography and Islamic sciences from 1977 to 1982 at the University of Würzburg and the State University of New York . From 1982 to 1986 he was a research assistant in the geography department at the University of Marburg . There doctorate he became Dr. rer. nat. and to the Dr. phil.

career

From 1986 to 1988 he did the preparatory service of the Foreign Office . From 1988 to 1990 he was permanent representative at the Consulate General in Jeddah . From 1990 to 1993 he was a consultant in the Middle East Department of the Foreign Office in Bonn . From 1993 to 1996 he was head of the press and public relations department of the German representation at the United Nations in New York. From 1996 to 1999 he was permanent representative at the German embassy in Belgrade .

In 1999 he headed the G8 Working Group on Combating International Organized Crime and Terrorism. From 1999 to 2002 he was the deputy head of the department and consultant for fundamental issues in the Africa department of the Foreign Office, now in Berlin . From 2002 to 2005 he was head of division in the foreign department of the Federal President's Office in Berlin. In 2005 he became head of division in the Africa department of the Foreign Office and in 2008 its deputy director. In 2009 he moved to the Andrássy University of Budapest as professor of diplomacy . From 2012 to 2015 he was the German Consul General in Kaliningrad . He has been Consul General in Marseille since 2015 .
