Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1964, Niese completed a teaching degree in mathematics , physics , philosophy and pedagogy , which he completed in 1970 with the state examination for teaching at grammar schools. He then worked as an assistant at the Mathematical Seminar at the University of Hamburg . In 1973 he received his doctorate here as a Dr. rer. nat. with the work "Affine Networks and Associated Algebraic Structures" . From 1974 to 1987 Niese finally worked as a teacher at a grammar school.

Political party

Niese joined the SPD as a schoolboy in 1962 and was elected to the board of the SPD sub-district of Hamburg-Bergedorf for the first time in 1968 . From 1972 to 1978 he was initially deputy chairman and from 1978 to 1989 finally chairman of the Bergedorf sub-district. In addition, from 1978 to 1989 he was a member of the state executive committee of the SPD in Hamburg .

Niese belonged to the district assembly of Hamburg-Bergedorf from 1970 to 1978 and again since 2008, and from 1978 to 1986 also to the Hamburg citizenship . Until March 5, 1982, when he took up a regular mandate for the late Klaus Hansen , he was the next appointed candidate for the senatorial seat.

From 1987 to 2002 he was a member of the German Bundestag . Rolf Niese has always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the Hamburg-Bergedorf constituency .
